At some point in our lives, many of us have shared a relationship with a parent, teacher, or employer which deeply affected us. That person had high standards. He stood for something and invited others to stand with him. He was demanding; he never gave in and never accepted mediocre performance. But he also never gave up, and constantly communicated high expectations and the trust that we could meet them. |

I appreciate the point about the world having a goal and destiny and how the world is evolving towards a state of perfection and redemption. But why the focus on a human being as the redeemer? If redemption is that crucial, couldn't G‑d do it on His own? |

Moshiach and the Era of Moshiach are critical cornerstones of Judaism. Jewish philosophy states that G-d's Divine Plan for Creation will be realized with the advent of the Era of Moshiach. The Prophets are filled with references and descriptions of the individual who will be Moshiach, and what the world will be like after the change that he ushers in.

Why do we allay refer to Moshiach a man? Why can a woman not be the Moshiach who will take the Jews our of Golus. Are women considered to be inferior to men?

Why do we have to believe in a human Messiah? What is wrong with
simply believing in a Messianic age when the world will be a perfect
G-dly world? Why can't we have a relationship with G-d without the
intervention of a human being?

Many people feel unable to accept the idea of Moshiach. They cannot understand with human reason how Moshiach can come and transform the order of things around us, but whiile we believe in supernatural, Moshiach can be understood as a natural concept as well. |
