Why does the Messiah stem from the union of David and Bat-Sheva? Print E-mail

It is explained in the teachings of kabbalah that Moshiach actually stems from several questionable sources: The union of Lot with his daughters, the union of Yehudah with Tamar (whom he thought was a harlot), and the union of David with Bas-Sheva. [Incidentally, none of these unions were forbidden by the Torah. Technically, a non-Jew may marry his own daughter.]

Moshiach is an incredible power of kedusha which will be unleashed in this world, and there is no doubt that the Satan and the powers of klipah would combat anything which would lead to the birth of Moshiach. Hashem, therefore, "hid" the conception of Moshiach in disrespectable circumstances where even the Satan wouldn't think to look.
