Pathans are descended from the lost tribes

I am Australian and the daughter of a Pashtun, Fateh Mhd. Khan from the Khyber Pass. When I was old enough to understand, my father explained to me what it meant to be a Pathan, gave me the information regarding a few generations of his family tree and explained that we descend from women from one of the lost tribes settled in Afghanistan, who married deserters from Alexanders army. He was short, slim, fair skinned, dark hair with greyish eyes. An eagle beak of a nose. His father was very tall, fair skinned, dark hair, greyish eyes, straight nose.

He said that Afghans were amused that Hitler had declared them Aryans. On weekends, with his friend David Solomon, he enjoyed debating the world and its wonders.

I listened to an audio class on Chabad.org by Mendel Kaplan, he seems to take Rabbi Akiva's view, and he said that some from the 10 tribes returned with Yirmiyahu, and 12-13 thousand of the 40,000 Jews that returned with Ezra were from the 10 tribes. - Shlomo Nachman

I would like to thank SS Grodman for broaching the subject as to whether Maori (from New Zealand) were from the lost tribes of Israel? I am half Maori and half European and my interest in this subject started 20 years ago when I began a comparative study between Christianity and Maori beliefs. Although time and distance has caused embelishment of the original traditions (Israelite), there is enough information to show that many of our Maori legends point back to Israel.

For instance, like Joshua, we to had an ancestor who arrested the sun in the sky. We also recall another of our ancestors ascending the mountain of the supreme being to obtain knowledge on how people should live. This knowledge corresponds to the Mosaic law. He also brought back two magical stones that were used in a similar manner to the Urim and the Thummim. Also our ancestors smeared red ochre over their doorways to keep out malevolent fairy beings who came at night to take away their womenfolk.

I cannot complete the thesis here but I hope these examples have whet your appitite. - Charles Mathews

Shalom to all. Jacqueline - those Jews in Spain who fled to Mexico etc also ended up in the US Southwest. I am of Sephardic descent through my father who is a Cavazos (name has several variations). The Sephardi encompass the majority of the known Hispanic names in the US today. Many of these families intermarried and have done DNS studies that show the Semetic Genetic Markers of the Cohen Modules J, J1, J2

I recommend Sephardim.com for more information on this subject or you could contact me personally.

Shalom. - Ronda K Miller

A guy I met just told me allot I about the Bible that I did not know or a way I haven't heard it before. he was telling me that most of the black people like myself that are in the U.S where of course brought over on slave ships . but he was saying that most of us where really Israelites not of complete African blood but where sold by other africans to slave traders and that the reason that we where sold was because we where really not apart of there people but that we where mingled in with them because the tribes of israel where scatted and took as slaves by many nation. what do you think about that? - Joshua Boys

I think that we all seek ties to a rich heritage that is a little special and a little out of the ordinary. I know I do! We would all like to think are from royal lineage, such as one of the Tribes of Israel.

In this age of communication and information, we can really celebrate the human family as a literal family tree, uniting us all as brothers and sisters AND princes and princesses of something (if that idea appeals!)

We should honour each other as such. It is an fascinating concept! That the Japanese and Maori races could be connected to the tribes is a beautiful theory! - Amy McDonald

Where are the bones of Israel?

Ten lost tribes have not been found yet.
A lot of people are looking for ten lost tribes by various methods today.
And, a lot of races have been enumerated as ten tribes' candidate.
Ethiopia and Afghanistan, India, China, the United States, and Japan ・・・
However, definite evidence that they are ten tribes is not found.
Why cannot we discover ten tribes?

I think that the search method is wrong.
We will be able to find never 10 tribes even if it examines their manners and customs and it analyzes a gene.
The reason is shown in the book of Ezekiel.
Though the appearance of the revival of ten tribes is drawn in the book of Ezekiel,　ｔen tribes have already died out according to it.
It is not possible to look for the race who dies out.
Therefore, it is not ten tribes that we must look for. It is a bones of Israel.

As a diligent scholar of the Bible, I wish to know if Israel has found its 10 lost tribes already. How many have been confirmed found and how many are still lost in the world? Doesn't their discovery and return to Israel usher in the physical coming of the Moshiach?

Mr. Samoa

Editor's Note:

The discovery (if true!) in itelf is perhaps a small preview of what will happen, but in itself is not a major step in that direction. The return of the tribes will be a by-product of Moshiach, not the other way around. What is more exciting is the return of the confirmed Jews from Russia, Yemen and other countries. - Mr. Samoa

Others who may be Israelites

Shalom!

When I lived in Jerusalem many years ago, I met a linguist and ethnologist named Jacob Willibrands who told me the Armenians are of Israelite descent. I later found this claim in a number of scholarly Jewish works.

Mr. Willibrands also said he had studied the origins of the major Palestinian villages of Jordan, the Occupied Territories, and Gaza and had found that the overwhelming majority are also descended from Israel. If he is correct, this is indeed a startling discovery!

Friends told me they saw a documentary in England that stated that scholars maintain that at least 80 percent of the Portuguese are of Jewish descent through Marannos and Conversos who migrated there from Spain in the 1500's.

If the Armenians are descendants from the first Diaspora, the many thousands of Hemsinlis of Turkey would also be Israelites. They converted to Islam from Christianity in past centuries.

Your studies are most interesting. Keep up the good work. I pray that Messiah will indeed come soon.

Tribe of Judah

Greetings!

I stumbled across your site, and found it to be very fascinating! I have been conducting a research of my own for a few years on the tribe of Judah.

I believe that they were mostly comprised of the Jews of Spain who fled persecution from Queen Isabella during the Inquisition. Many of them fled to Puerto Rico, Mexico, and various regions of South America. Still others fled to Portugal and Morocco.

I believe that I am a descendant of these Jews, and wish to know more about the specific family names, and how they came about. For instance, I once read that back during the Jewish/Moslem wars against the Spanish in about 700 a.d., many of the Jews changed their Arabic sounding names to more Hispanic names. I have evidence of this in my own family. I can trace my
own Hispanic family names to that period in time but before then there are no records of them having ever existed.

Also, in the Hispanic community there is a spiritual uprising taking place, where many Hispanics are coming to the same conclusion about their being Jews and converting to Judaism. There are large groups of them in Columbia, Venezuela, and Mexico.

Furthermore, there is a small group of people who live in the hills of Puerto Rico who speak Ladino and call themselves Jews.

I wonder if you can offer any information, or other sites in which to continue my search. If you have any information regarding their whereabouts please let me know.

Shalom,
Jacqueline Vicente-Ramirez de Arrellano - Jacqueline Vicente

I read in the paper that Maori Indians are going to Israel to learn about Judaism and that they claim to be Jewish. If they are descended from Jews why aren’t they included on your website and are there any other peoples that are descended from Jews that are not on your website? - SS Grodman
